Jill supports the accounting functions and heads some of the various tax registrations and filings such as hotel occupancy tax, sales tax, and excise tax. She also serves as the main point of contact on any related audits performed by the states, counties, or cities. Jill also occasionally assists in Human Resources on specialized projects. Jill joined Emerald Hospitality in early 2018 after being in public accounting for the last ten years. While in public accounting, she served as the primary contact for the clients and prepared year end entries, financial statements, and tax returns for the business clients in various states. She also provided consulting services to her clients in the form of valuing their businesses when clients expressed interest in selling and analyzing their financial information for variances from year to year. Prior to public accounting, she worked for several years in the accounting department for a privately owned commercial real estate company where she gained experience in nearly every facet of accounting. She earned a BSBA from Bowling Green State University with a dual major in accounting and human resources and holds a CPA license in the state of Ohio.
