McKenzie joined Emerald in 2016 as a determined Business Administration student seeking to develop his passion for serving and leading others in the hotel industry. After graduating from Kent State University in 2018, McKenzie worked on our Emerald Task Force team to assist with pre/post-opening functions at our newly developed properties. Previously, McKenzie acted as the General Manager of our highest guest-rated property within our portfolio and was awarded the 2020 General Manager of the Year Award from The Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association. McKenzie currently serves as Hospitality Support Manager, bringing 8+ years of hands-on experience at all levels of hotel operations and has a key support role for our Emerald Operations team to complete special projects, lead our task force efforts and stay connected with our hotel teams to motivate them for success. McKenzie is results-driven and passionate about developing supportive corporate culture, on-property revenue management and collaborating directly with hotel teams to drive high performance and guest satisfaction.
In McKenzie’s free time, he enjoys playing French Horn with the Lake Effect Concert Band, biking the towpath trails in Northeast Ohio and spending time with his family.
