Portland, Maine – At the Maine Innkeepers Association annual meeting and awards dinner held in Portland last night at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, Jeanne Carpentier was honored as 2016’s Maine Innkeeper of the Year in recognition of her years of service to the hospitality industry in Maine, as well as her constant support to the association and the Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation.  Jeanne has been involved with the association since she started in the industry as a “breakfast hostess and secretary to the GM” at the Hampton Inn South Portland in 1986.  She is now employed by Emerald Hospitality Associates, Inc., as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for New England and New York.

The text on the plaque presented to Ms. Carpentier reads:

“Innkeeper of the Year:  To an Innkeeper who is a very devoted hospitality professional and an incredibly dedicated association leader.  Jeanne was a tremendous support during her two years as Chair of the Association.  Jeanne was also Chair of our Education Foundation during a period of unprecedented growth.”
