AUBURN, New York – The Warm the Children coat giveaway was held on Thursday, October 26th, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, New York. More than 1,000 people in Cayuga County applied for Warm the Children, a national program that provides brand new winter clothing to families in need. Each year, hundreds of families are referred to Warm the Children, which is primarily funded by businesses and individual donations. In Cayuga County, the Cayuga-Seneca Community Action Agency, Auburn Rotary Club and The Citizen put on the event, piling hundreds of coats, boots, hats and scarves for children ages 0 to 14 in the ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn.
